SYMBOLS OF RESISTANCE

Symbols of Resistance is a 2D strategy defense game inspired by the classic Plants vs. Zombies gameplay. Set during the Palestinian resistance, your mission is to defend the sacred site of Mescid-i Aksa by strategically placing defenders against waves of enemies. Use olive trees to generate resources and deploy unique fighters from the Palestinian resistance to stop the advancing Israeli forces.

We came together as three friends over five days to design a game that brings attention to the genocide happening in Palestine.

🔍 Gameplay Summary:

• Olive Tree: Produces in-game currency, olives.   
• Barrel: A temporary barrier that blocks enemy progress. 
• Stone-Throwing Kid: A child who throws stones at enemies. 
• Shovel-Wielding Aunt: A woman who uses a shovel in close combat. 
• Slingshot-Wielding Uncle in a Wheelchair: A man in a wheelchair who uses a slingshot to target enemies at close range over a wide area.

📜How to Play:

1. Click the button to select a unit.
2. Click on the appropriate tile to place the unit.
3. Protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque from enemies.
4. Use more olive trees to place additional units and strengthen your defense.
5. The Al-Aqsa Mosque has 3 lives. If the lives are depleted, you lose the game.
6. Complete all enemy waves to win the level!

• DOTween: For smooth animations and transitions.
• Freesound.org: For in-game sound effects.
• Palestinian Music: Background music representing Palestinian resistance.

• LevelManager.cs: Manages level logic, win/loss conditions.
• TileManager.cs: Manages the grid where units are placed.

• Selector.cs: Handles unit selection and placement.
